Rutledge Roper Short Shank. Sweet Iron Low Port and 7"
Cheeks. Looks to be severe, but when ridden with a medium to
tight curb the mouthpiece lays flat on the bars, over a wide area,
touching more and many new nerves. Used successfully on horses
with damaged tongues or bars. Unique floating shank allows curb to
be drawn from side to side for another totally new feel. Many who
have tried it say it works OK the first day, better the next and by the
end of the week cannot believe the control they have regained. |

Rutledge Roper Long Shank. Sweet Iron Low Port with 9"
Cheeks. Although it may not look it, this is a very humane
bit. It can make even the most nervous of horses settle down
because there is no pressure on the bars. The flat mouthpiece lies
across the tongue. Shanks work independently of each other
applying pressure to the curb chain. Ropers and Barrel Racers have
gotten outstanding results and satisfaction from using the Rutledge
Roper. |
